PNSY Dry Dock 2 Portal Crane Rail & Tunnel Repairs - Kittery, ME
The purpose of the Portal Crane Rail & Tunnel Repair project at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME is to increase the capacity of the existing crane rails around the dry dock. Methuen Construction is providing portal crane rail infrastructure at the head end of Dry Dock 2, east side of DD2, and in the transition area between Dry Dock 2 and Berth 6, also replaceing the crane rail supported by the east side Dry Dock 2 wall. A new tunnel at Dry Dock 2 was constructed, existing electrical and communication lines were relocated, and manholes were replaced. The scope of work for this project also includes site work, storm drainage improvments and site regrading.
