Methuen Construction was the general contractor for this project at Spincraft in North Billerica, MA.  Initial scope was preparing an existing area to support a Carnaghi Vertical Turning Center, which Spincraft uses to create complex metal fabrications for the aerospace, defense, and energy industries. Work consisted of: demolition of a concrete floor slab, dewatering and excavation with engineered support in order to form and place a concrete foundation measuring 60’x55’ inside an existing facility. Prior to starting construction, the soil was found to be contaminated with asbestos, which required the project team to develop a comphrensive plan to address the asbestos contamination.
